2001: David Duval, who was twice a runner-up in his 27 appearances at major championships, won the British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes. In the final round, Duval broke out of a four-way tie for the lead with an 18-foot birdie putt at the sixth hole and never looked back. He finished with a 10-under 274 total for the win.
