1946: Herman Kaiser grabbed at least a share of the lead during the first three rounds at the first post-war Masters, carding rounds of 68, 67 and 72. Building an early lead proved valuable to Kaiser, who found himself challenged by Ben Hogan in the final round. Hogan pulled within a stroke of the leader, but three-putted the final hole, allowing Kaiser to capture the title by a stroke. |
