1947: Jimmy Demaret earned his place in Masters history by becoming the first player to register four sub-par rounds in the same Masters. Demaret posted a 69 and 71 in the first and second rounds, respectively, to take a share of the lead. He pulled away in the final two rounds with scores of 70 and 71 to finish with a two-stroke lead and his second Masters title. Demaret joined Horton Smith and Byron Nelson as two-time winners at Augusta. |
