1962 -- Oakmont Country Club
The 1962 U.S. Open was decided with an 18-hole playoff between Arnold Palmer, the 1960 champion, and the brash 22-year-old Jack Nicklaus. Nicklaus, who had won the U.S. Amateur the previous year, shot 71 to Palmer's 74 and the rookie earned his first win as a professional.
