1994 -- Oakmont Country Club
Ernie Els became the fourth foreign-born player to win the U.S. Open in 67 years when he triumphed in 1994 at Oakmont. He had to survive an 18-hole playoff with Colin Montgomerie and Loren Roberts on Monday to get his first PGA TOUR win. The Scot was eliminated after shooting a 78, then Els beat Roberts with a par on the second hole of sudden death.
